The motif of a vase shaped like a head is nothing new in the world of design and art... It exists in many iconic forms throughout history. However, after years of intense observation of historical vases, I noticed that many of them resemble a woman's head in both shape and expression. I materialized this idea in the object Mrs. Vase. It is an object on the borderline between design and fine art. The shape is simple, almost archetypal, with a subtle craft detail: hand-painted lips hinting at a smile.
INSPIRATION
I was inspired by pop art and, in a broader sense, by the work of Ladislav Sutnar and David Lynch. I would like the Mrs. Vases to be perceived as Joy-Art objects—as joyful, self-confident sculptures for everyday life.
