Má práce byla vybrána mezi top 15 finalistů Diploma Selection.

My work was selected among the top 15 finalists of the Diploma Selection.

Curators board selected top 30 projects from 38 European universities. The most talented product designers will present their diploma work within common exhibition space in Openstudio. The most progressive fashion collections will take place during Designblok fashion shows programme.

My work with glass is based on my long-term interest in Prague architecture, public space, nightlife, pop culture, street art, kitsch, Czech surrealism, and magical Prague. Why Prague? As indicated, I am fascinated by Prague’s history, architectural diversity, contrasts and inconsistency of artistic styles. Buildings‘ structures, the peeling and the fallen plaster also have a strong effect on me. I am also inspired by bizarre situations, visual peculiarities based on chance, inscriptions and graffiti. I am also fascinated by the opposite moments when the nature meets the city and „beauty with ugliness“. Even sounds and vibrations complete the unique character of the city. I also study nightlife in Prague, where lights and neons wake up and the city has even more magical atmosphere. I live in my own Prague, where local legends and rumors become a reality. I absorb all visual and sound stimuli, and then transform them into a glass form. Prague Jungle Vases are objects that transcend the boundaries of a mere decorative object. They are an authentic statement and a reflection of the combination of my feelings from life and pulsating energy in Prague.

Součástí váz jsou i reproduktory se zvuky z mých oblíbených míst v Praze. Nahrávka je protkaná zvuky o frekvenci 82 Hz, jež rozvibrovává tělo vázy tak, že se na dotyk jemně chvěje. Vibrující váza evokuje pulzující Prahu, jež se vlivem spletité soustavy podzemní dopravy třese. Avšak taková instalace potřebuje uzavřený prostor, a těsný přístup k vázám, aby vynikla. Rozhodla jsem se od toho při této výstavě upustit. Nahrávku k vázám si však můžete pustit zde na mých stránkách.

Ve své práci se sklem vycházím z mého dlouhodobého zájmu o pražskou architekturu, veřejný prostor, noční život, popkulturu, street art, kýč, český surrealismus, a magickou Prahu. Proč Praha? Jak jsem naznačila, na Praze mě fascinuje její historie, architektonická různorodost, kontrasty a nejednotnost uměleckých slohů. Též struktury staveb, oprýskanost a opadané omítky na mě silně působí. Inspirují mě ale i bizarní situace, vizuální zvláštnosti založené na náhodně, nápisy a graffiti. Okouzlení protikladnými chvílemi, kdy se příroda setkává s městem, a krása s ošklivostí. I zvuky a vibrace dokreslují jedinečný charakter města. Studuji noční život v Praze, kdy se probudí světla a neony a město má magičtější atmosféru. Žiji ve své vlastní Praze, kde jsou místní legendy a pověsti realitou. Veškeré vizuální a zvukové podněty vtřebávám, a pak transformuji do skleněné podoby.
Růžová menší váza vystihuje klidnou pražskou atmosféru těsně před východem a západem slunce, nebo obecně ty vzácné okamžiky, kdy máte pocit, že se zpomalil čas. Druhá, vyšší a barevnější je pak odrazem každodenního shonu a nočního hemžení. Prague Jungle Vases jsou objekty přesahující hranice pouhého dekoračního předmětu. Jsou autentickou výpovědí a odrazem kombinace mých pocitů ze života a pulzující energie v Praze.

About competition

Designblok – Prague International Design Festival in association with EUNIC Cluster CR will announce seventh annual of Diploma Selection – an international competition for the best European diploma (graduation) work in the fields of product and fashion design merged with the following edition in 2021. The reason is due the postponement of diploma thesis defenses across all European universities.

Curators board selects the competition finalists out of all applicants. Product designers are assigned an exhibition space at the Designblok Openstudio (the central Designblok exhibition space which hosts about 40,000 visitors) in the Diploma Selection joint exhibition. Fashion designers are given the opportunity to present their collections at a Diploma Selection fashion show event. The international jury selects winners in both fields.

Winners get the opportunity to present their latest work/collection during Designblok and are also awarded a financial prize of EUR 1,000.
